Follow the trail

Peak week in the training program up to CPH marathon. According to the plan I was supposed to do a 28k run at easy pace with 4k at marathon pace, instead I ended up running a 32k trail run on the small island "Bornholm".
It was a great run along the coast and it was nice to try something else than "simple road race". The first 25k went really well, but then it started getting really tough on the legs as the trail required use of some different muscles than normal road race, so I really had to fight my way through the last 7k.
However, I made it and I am certain it will provide me with a nice morale boost at the CPH Marathon to be able to reflect back on the tough coastal run which I completed with heavy legs.

I can highly recommend running along the coastal line of Bornholm (following "Kyststien") as it is a beautiful trail with plenty of challenges for a novice trail runner!
I thought I had lost my favourite running socks, so I had to run the long run in another pair, which once again caused blood blisters on one of my feet. Of course I have now found the socks but only after ordering another pair - in the wrong size.... oh well, the important thing is I have my socks ready for the CPH Marathon! :-)

Now the tapering phase starts, which means 3 weeks of decreasing the mileage while still keeping a few fast paced sections. I look forward to 19 May!!!
